The supported ramus osteotomy types are:
horizontal
vertical
inverted-L
C-ramus
To virtually perform the ramus osteotomy:
On the Surgery tab, click Ramus .
In the 3D viewer select the side of the mandible on which the ramus osteotomy needs to be simulated. If a dental segmentation has been performed, the segmented teeth are visible in the 3D viewer. If the mandibular nerve has been annotated, it is also shown in the 3D viewer.
Indicate the lingual line of the ramus osteotomy. To reindicate the points, click Reindicate cutting line.
Click Next to continue.
Check whether the osteotomy surface completely intersects the mandible model. Adjust the surface if necessary. Parallel points are paired. Use the Surface size slider to resize the plane.
Click Next.
The model is cut. The mandible and left/right ramus models are added to the visibility editor. The ramus is highlighted in blue. Check whether the osteotomy was correctly simulated, and whether the mandible and ramus fragments are correctly identified. If not, click Back. Otherwise, click Finish.
The left/right ramus is added to the scene and to the surgery models group in the Patient Visibility smart panel. The ramus object gets a green color to distinguish it from the mandible. You can change the object properties by right-clicking the fragment in the 3D scene.
