Select jaw type and set the occlusal plane

The third page of the wizard allows you to indicate the proper jaw type. It also allows you to make sure the model corresponds as accurately as possible with the patient’s anatomy. When the orientation of the scan of the patient is not optimal, correct it via the scanner orientation function on this page. If the occlusal plane, indicated with the red line, is set too high or too low, adjust it with the slider.

Take one or more of the following steps:

Define the appropriate labels for the patient model by selecting the Upper jaw or Lower jaw label. This selection will configure the software and the tooth numbering guide for the 3D model you have converted.

Caution

If the wrong jaw type is selected, the patient model will not be visualized correctly. On the Planning Overview page in the report this may result in a patient model being displayed in the wrong direction.

In the lateral and frontal viewers rotate the model in order to correct the position of the scan. Drag the sliders to make it tilt.

If the red line, indicating the occlusal plane, is not positioned where the occlusal plane ought to be, drag the central slider up or down until the patient model is in the correct position.
