Add Implant | |||
To plan an implant in a workspace that contains (CB)CT data or an intraoral scan that is aligned to the 3D X-ray:
On the Plan toolbar, select Add Implant. If you are in the Implant workspace and adding the first implant, you can also click Place an implant.
Notes
For a single tooth or two neighboring teeth, an initial position for implants can be calculated: see Auto Plan.
For prosthetic-driven implant planning, virtual teeth are added.
Define the implant in a viewer by clicking once to set the shoulder position, then left‑click to set the tip position.
The implant is added to the plan.
Set the Implant Details
On the Implant plan smart panel, you will see that a tooth number is automatically assigned to the implant, equal to the tooth annotation closest to the shoulder point.
To view or to edit implant details, hover over the implant on the Implant plan smart panel, and click the arrow icon. Alternatively, right-click the implant in one of the viewers, and select Edit implant details.
To change the implant type:
Hover over the planned implant.
Click the arrow to open the implant details pane.
Select an implant type from the Implant drop-down list.
The Implant drop-down displays up to eight recently used implants. To select a different implant brand or type, select + Implant to open the product selector.
Notes
The implant is automatically rotated around its axis so that the platform direction is aligned as perpendicular as possible to the occlusal plane.
When you select a different implant, the system attempts to match the parameters as closely as possible to those of the previously selected implant.
Product Selector
To select an implant that is not in your Implant drop-down list:
To open the Implant details pane, hover over the planned implant on the Implant plan smart panel and click the arrow.
In the Implant drop-down list, select + Implant. Alternatively, click the catalog icon (
) next to Implant details.
Select the Brand. If the brand is not yet installed, hover over the brand tile and click Install.
Select the Implant. The implants are displayed with detailed images. Use the filters on top of the page to help you find the right implant.
Click the appropriate parameters, like Platform, Diameter and Length buttons. View the image in 3D.
Optionally, to add an abutment, click Add abutment, and select the appropriate abutment.
Click Confirm.
Abutments and Sleeves
Abutments and sleeves for guided implant planning are also added on the Implant plan smart panel. To add an abutment, click + Abutment and choose an abutment family from the list, and adjust its angle and rotation. When switching abutment family, choose the correct parameters. Recently used abutments that fit the implant appear at the top of the list. To select other abutments, choose + Abutment in the list.
