Notes
This action is only available for cases for which no patient model has been created.
When you create a new case, the Patient Model Wizard will automatically be opened.
Initially, no DICOM files are loaded. Click Import DICOM.
Browse to the folder where the DICOM files are stored and click Select Folder.
The DICOM files in the selected folder are loaded and converted into DICOM sets. The patient name is shown on the tiles. When hovering over a tile, more information is shown, for example scan date, slice increment, and number of slices. To import additional DICOM sets, repeat steps 2 and 3.
Click a tile to select the DICOM set. The DICOM Viewer at the right-hand side of the wizard page shows a preview of the selected set. Scroll through the slices or use the Interaction icons to verify whether the correct set will be used.
Click Next.
The patient model is created. Check the bone threshold of the patient model and adjust if needed.
Click Next.
Check the skin threshold of the patient model and adjust if needed.
Click Next.
Position the patient in the natural head position with the help of the Rotation and Translation functions in the Frontal viewer and the Right lateral viewer. If needed, reset the position to the initial value by clicking the reset icon .
Tip
Use the tab key to switch between rotation and translation mode.
When done, click Finish.
The patient model and the reslice objects are added to the scene. By default, the reslice objects are hidden, but can be visualized in the Visibility editor. Before you can start simulating a surgery, the creation of surgery models is required. Therefore, continue to the Surgery model wizard.
