1. When the treatment is open, ensure that:
— a dental scan is available.
— the dental scan has at least three remaining teeth.
2. Click SmartSetup in the Additional Scans group on the Prosthetic tab.
3. The SmartSetup™ wizard is opened, showing the tooth chart for the jaw that is to be treated. By default, a SmartSetup™ is indicated on the positions where missing teeth were indicated in the Dental Scan wizard. Add or remove a SmartSetup™ by clicking a tooth on the tooth chart. An included tooth is colored in green, excluded teeth are shown in white.
4. Click SmartSetup Settings in the bottom-right corner of the tooth chart pane and adjust the SmartSetup™ settings to change the SmartSetup™ outcome.
5. Click Next. The SmartSetup™ is being calculated.
6. Check the calculated SmartSetup™. If adjustment is needed, click Edit SmartSetup. If everything is OK, click Finish.
If the calculation of the SmartSetup™ fails, initialization of the SmartSetup™ might resolve the issue. To start the initialization:
1. Click Initialize SmartSetup™ in the failure notification.
2. Indicate the requested tooth positions on the dental scan, as instructed in the tooltips. Place the point in the center of the tooth. To start over, click Reindicate points.
3. Click Finish.
4. SmartSetup™ is being calculated.
5. Check the calculated SmartSetup™. If adjustment is needed, click Edit SmartSetup. If everything is OK, click Finish.

It is possible to start the initialization of the SmartSetup™ by clicking Initialize SmartSetup™ on the SmartSetup™ calculation page.
