This scan protocol allows the radiographic guide to be digitized, irrespective of the patient scan and possible related artifacts.
Since the gray values of the radiographic guide are almost identical to those of the patient's soft tissues, two (CB)CT-scans are performed:
— a patient scan
— a separate scan of the radiographic guide
Both scans will be aligned, based on the gutta percha markers on the radiographic guide, which are key to performing an accurate fusion of both scans.
