Planning a patient

The Planning module is a three-dimensional (3D) image-based environment representing a 3D medical image volume as a 3D scene. It allows you to create a 3D patient model and radiographic guide, to annotate the nerve position, to perform image-based diagnostics, to determine where implants and anchor pins need to be placed,  and to generate a preview of the surgical template based on the treatment plan.

This approach links conventional (stacks of) two-dimensional radiological images with the actual view of a patient in the operating theatre. In such a 3D scene, image derived features (e.g. a delineated nerve, bone surfaces) as well as virtual representations of surgical accessories (e.g. implants) are shown as distinct objects.
