If the dental scan and patient model are not correctly aligned after SmartFusion™ Initialization, manual alignment may be performed. You will be guided through the alignment process by a range of pop-up messages and warnings.
Caution Manual alignment is a process which should be executed with the utmost accuracy. Double-check the accuracy of the corresponding points, and the position of the dental scan coinciding with the patient model. |
When using manual alignment to make the dental scan and the patient model align, define at least nine pairs of points.
1. Click Edit Dental Scan in the Prosthetic tab.
Note
If you are already on the Check Alignment page, you can skip this first step.
2. Click Indicate corresponding points.
3. In the Corresponding points wizard, indicate at least nine pairs of corresponding points. If the points are not placed correctly, they can be removed. A warning message will be displayed in the Warnings section on the left, informing you how many pairs of points you have defined. Should you need to remove all corresponding points, you can do so with a single click.
4. When at least nine pairs of corresponding points are indicated, click Finish to close the wizard. Make sure all warnings are addressed before closing the wizard, otherwise you may not be able to finish.
5. On the Check Alignment page, verify whether dental scan and patient model are correctly aligned by scrolling through the reslices.
6. In the Instructions pane a warning is shown, informing you that manual alignment was used. If desired, click the link below the message to restore the SmartFusion™. If you want to use manual alignment, leave it as it is.
7. If the alignment is correct, click Finish.
8. The dental scan is added to the scene.
