Main reslices

There are three main reslice choices to view, each with its own specific features:

     Coronal reslice

     Axial reslice

     Sagittal reslice

You can hide all reslices, change the level/window (contrast) of all the reslices, map the HU / gray values to colors, or perform clipping actions based on the position of the reslices.

Coronal reslice

The coronal plane is an orthogonal plane of the body that passes vertically through the body from left to right. Coronal is also called frontal, and is parallel to the patient's long body axis and left to right.

The coronal reslice runs according this coronal plane, thus dividing the occlusal plane into front (anterior) and back (posterior) portions.

The color used for the coronal contour line is blue. Blue is also used to draw the coronal index lines and the icons used to indicate the coronal reslice.

Axial reslice

The orientation of the axial reslice is determined by the orientation of the occlusal plane: the axial reslice is a slice along the occlusal plane, thus dividing the occlusal plane in upper and lower portions.

Orange is used to draw the contour line of the axial reslice. The icon used to indicate the axial reslice and the index lines are also drawn in orange.

Sagittal reslice

The sagittal reslice is made along to the sagittal plane, an orthogonal plane of the body that passes vertically through the body from front to back. This plane runs through the occlusal plane and divides the body into left and right portions.

To indicate the sagittal reslice in cross-sections, green is used for the contour and index lines as well as for the sagittal reslice icon.
