To let the software propose an initial implant plan for a single tooth or two neighboring teeth, make sure the IO scan has been fused with the 3D X-ray.
Note
The auto-plan action requires the patient to have at least three teeth. However, the solution is specifically designed and optimized for a single implant, as well as for two neighboring implants or a bridge on two neighboring teeth.
Go to the Implant workspace.
Click Plan on the menu bar.
Click Auto Plan.
Missing teeth are selected by default for a virtual teeth and implant. Adjust the selection of tooth positions that you want to modify and implants that you want to place or proceed with the calculation if the initial setup suggestion is OK.
Right-click a tooth to select Create virtual tooth, Plan implant initial position or Extract tooth.
Select your preferred implant family. More implant families can be downloaded from DTX Studio Go (see Add implant product). By default, the last used implant family will be selected. The algorithm will select the best implant size for the specific tooth location.
Note
To manually adjust the detected scan range, click Edit upper scan rangeor
Edit lower scan range (depending on the setup) by using the white handles on the tooth chart. Click Save.
Click Next.
Check if all teeth are correctly indicated. If needed, click Indicate teeth manually to correct the tooth positions. Click Finish.
Virtual teeth and implant initial positions are being calculated and shown in the scene. On the smart panel an implant is labeled Auto — until its position is adjusted.
Note
The algorithm is designed to reduce both the time and the number of clicks required to create a digital dental implant plan. This algorithm is based on crown-down implant planning using virtual tooth setup, combined with several anatomical considerations or constraints, to define the initial position of an implant.
To adjust the position of the planned implant, drag the implant in the scene:
inside the bounding box to translate the implant
outside the bounding box to rotate the implant.
On the Adjust smart panel, select Lock position during recalculation to keep the selected implant on this position when clicking
Recalculate implant positions for Implant Plan — for instance when the position of a virtual tooth was moved or another implant brand was selected.
