PMS Integration
Integrating DTX Studio Clinic with a Practice Management System (PMS) (i.e. through VDDS or OPP/OPP web) allows you to create a patient record and acquire an image from within the PMS. Preview the PMS images in DTX Studio Home or view them directly in the Clinic module.
The following systems are supported:
PMS systems that support VDDS protocol (stages 1 through 5 are supported).
PMS systems that support Open Practice Protocol (OPP).
PMS systems that support OPP web protocol.
Patterson Eaglesoft 20 and above (using Eaglesoft API).
Dentrix G6 using the Dentrix DTX Studio Clinic Integrator.
Dentrix G7 Smart Image.
PMS systems that support CLINIVIEW™ (using Cliniview.ini).
Note
Please check www.dtxstudio.com or contact your local customer support to verify whether your PMS can be integrated with DTX Studio Clinic.
Enabling PMS Integration
To enable PMS integration:
In DTX Studio Home click 
Menu.
Click 
Settings.
Click PMS integration.
Select Enable PMS integration to allow communication between DTX Studio Clinic and your PMS system.
Select whether this is a File-based integration or not.
Select whether this is a Web-based integration or not. For a web-based integration, enter the port number for OPP protocol or other PMS services.
Below Open patient record, select how PMS patient records should be opened:

In the Clinic module
Click Configure and test PMS integration to test your PMS system. The fields above will be corrected if necessary.
PMS Settings
Configure the PMS settings:
Select Ignore PMS practice ID to enable treatment of the same patient by different practices or dentists.
Select Update patient information to force DTX Studio Clinic to update any patient information based on information provided by the PMS system.
Select Enable patient creation and import to allow using the 
button in DTX Studio Home. If this option is cleared and if PMS integration is turned on, patient data can only be loaded via the PMS system.
Select Single-patient mode to hide the DTX Studio Home patient list when a patient record is directly opened from within a PMS system.

Open image: Select how PMS images should be opened (only from within certain PMS systems):
As preview in DTX Studio Home to preview the PMS images in DTX Studio Home.
In DTX Studio Clinic to directly open PMS images in the Clinic module. The most recent diagnosis will be opened.
The PMS can communicate with DTX Studio Clinic and DTX Studio Core.
From within the PMS, send the patient info to DTX Studio Clinic and start acquiring an image for this patient. If the patient record does not yet exist in DTX Studio Clinic, the patient record is created with the information from the PMS.
When new images are available for a patient, the image metadata and a generated thumbnail are sent to the PMS (only for certain PMS systems). A watermark is added to the generated thumbnails.
Image Export Settings
Enable or disable including image filters when exporting images, or set the default 2D image file format.
The default Export mode is Filtered, meaning images will be exported with previously applied filters. To export the original images instead, select Original.
Note
Exporting DICOM images is only available for images with export mode Original.
The default 2D image file format is PNG.
