Intraoral Camera

To acquire intraoral images with an intraoral camera, plug in the USB dental device. The intraoral camera workspace is opened and on the SmartPanel™, the Cameras tab will appear.

Click the device tile on the Cameras tab usb icon of the SmartPanel™.

An intraoral camera viewer will appear in the workspace. If available on the title bar of the viewer, click the down arrow down arrow and then select the Capture mode capture mode icon.

Notes

For DIAGNOcams with a tip, the live feed shows directional hints to orientate the tooth position. The hints are saved on the image and shown on the viewer, and when maximizing the image in DTX Studio™ Clinic.

Directional hints are only shown if Automatically rotate the live feed is enabled and when using the camera in the Tooth workspace, acquiring with a known tooth number.

If working with a KaVo DIAGNOcam Vision Full HD device, select Multi shot to acquire all possible image types. When using the tip, three different acquisition modes are used: transillumination, fluorescence and intraoral. Select Single shot and the type of image to acquire one image type at a time. 

The defaults are set in the device settings that are accessible via the notification area.

Disable or enable the acquisition helper for a KaVo DIAGNOcam Vision Full HD by selecting Disable acquisition helper or Enable acquisition helper tooth with edge. The acquisition helper comes in the form of green or orange edges on the viewer, indicating good or bad exposure.

Press the button on the device to acquire the image. Alternatively, click Capture image camera in the viewer.

Notes

If your intraoral camera comes with a foot pedal, alternatively press the foot pedal to acquire an image.

If acquiring images with a KaVo DIAGNOcam Vision Full HD, Intraoral, Transillumination or Fluorescence acquisition can be selected.

On the SmartPanel™, select the tooth number that will be assigned to the acquired image.

Use the device buttons or click Next or Previous to switch between the teeth. When done, click Finish.

The images are added to the viewer and to the Patient data tab of the patient record. The images are also listed as clinical pictures among the related images on the Layout tab layout icon of the SmartPanel™ and shown on the thumbnail bar of the clinical pictures workspace.
