To import a surface scan resulting from a dental cast or an intraoral scan:
In the diagnose module, click to open the patient menu.
Click Data .
Select Import and then Dental scan.
Browse to the correct location of the surface scan you want to import.
Notes
.stl, .ply. and .nxa image types are supported. Only the jaw scans from these .nxa files will be imported in DTX Studio™ Clinic; other types of objects, like wax-ups, are ignored.
You can import an upper jaw and/or a lower jaw.
Check the scan in the dental scan viewer.
Click Done.
Note
If a 3D scan has already been added to this diagnosis, a warning message pops up informing you the dental scan needs to be aligned with the 3D scan. Click Start alignment and follow the steps in the Align dental scan wizard.
