Segments

The Bar deformation tool bar deformations tool activates the Segments segments icon parameters. Which segments are available, depends on the chosen bar type.

Below the options you will find a table of segments and joints. A segment is a section between two implants as well as the distal extensions. A joint is an implant section. Add handles to or remove them from one or several segments and/or joints by selecting or clearing the corresponding check boxes.

Segments for Free-form milled bars

Segment Description
Two handles mode for top Changes the top handle in the center of the segment/joint to two handles: one lingual (green) and one buccal (blue). This is visible from the front view. The height of the bar top can be adjusted from the lingual and buccal sides of the bar, not only from the center of the bar.
Two handles mode for bottom Changes the bottom handle in the center of the segment/joint to two handles: one lingual (green) and one buccal (blue). The height of the bar bottom can be adjusted from the lingual and buccal sides of the bar, not only from the center of the bar.

Note: Take into account that changing the Lower deformation mode option will alter all the areas stretched with these handles.
Lingual handles Displays the lingual handles of segments and joints.
Buccal handles Displays the buccal handles on segments and joints.
Bottom lingual and buccal directions These handles are displayed when their visibility is toggled from the Segments, in deformation mode. They can be moved within the plane of the section at the handle position. The bottom buccal/lingual direction setting enables the display of the width (between peers at same height), height (distance to model) or both for each handle.
Cross-section handles These handles drag the whole cross section along the section plane.
Move all global handles When selected, moving one handle will move at the same time all the displayed handles of the same level.
