3D Scene Settings

Select a lighting mode and default camera projection. To do so, click 3D Scene in the Visualization group on the General Preferences dialog.

Change the 3D Lighting Mode

Change the 3D lighting mode to increase or decrease the level of lighting and overall smoothness of the 3D viewer. Select a mode in the 3D Lighting drop-down list:

Planning mode is the default option. It is optimized for surgery planning. The 3D viewer is faster and lighting on the 3D model is less detailed. This facilitates annotations, measurements and overall surgery planning.

Presentation mode is recommended for surgery planning presentations to patients or colleagues. The 3D viewer is slower, but lighting on the 3D model is more detailed and realistic.

Change the Camera Projection

Set the default camera projection for 3D viewers in a workspace. This setting will not affect wizards or action pages.

Select Parallel projection or Perspective projection in the Workspace 3D Viewers drop-down list.

Change the Measurements Size

To keep the 3D scene in the workspace clear, select the Measurement Size. You can choose between Small, Medium and Large.
