During (CB)CT scanning, the patient’s head is not always orientated in a standard and optimal way. If needed, adjust the head position in IPS CaseDesigner® to closely match the natural head position.
Evaluate the patient's head position on the hard and the soft tissue in the wizard's frontal and lateral view.
Tip
Change the soft tissue transparency by clicking Transparency and moving the transparency slider. Transparency is by default set to 50%.
The natural head position can be edited at any time.
The 3D patient model can be orientated in the NHP by translating and rotating the model in the 3D viewers. Make sure to select the appropriate mode. When the Translation button is highlighted, the wizard is in translation mode. Click Rotation to switch to rotation mode. The Rotation button is highlighted.
Tip
Use the Tab key on the keyboard to switch between rotation and translation.
Reference lines in the frontal or right lateral viewers assist you in setting the model in the correct position. The Frontal viewer shows the facial midline and the Frankfurt Horizontal. The Frankfurt Horizontal continues in the Right lateral viewer, which also shows the true vertical.
Activate Rotation mode. The Rotation button is highlighted. Click the scene and drag to rotate the model.
