Landmarks

Cephalometric landmarks are indicated points which are used to base the calculation of planes and measurements on in a cephalometric analysis. They are visualized in the scene by colored spheres.

Different types of landmarks are available:

Hard tissue landmarks: This type of landmark must always be placed on the patient model's hard tissue. The landmark is attached to the model. When the model is modified, the landmark will move along with the model. If the landmark position is adjusted, it will be projected on the patient.

Soft tissue landmarks: This type of landmark must always be placed on the patient model's soft tissue. The landmark is attached to the skin surface model. When the skin surface model is modified, the landmark will move along with the model. If the landmark position is adjusted, it will be projected on the patient.

Floating landmarks: This type of landmark can be placed anywhere in the scene. A floating landmark is not attached to the model, so its position will not be modified when surgery planning or soft tissue simulation changes the model. If the landmark position is adjusted, this will have no immediate effect on the model. It is not projected onto the patient.
