Change the 3D lighting mode

Change the 3D lighting mode to increase or decrease the level of lighting and overall smoothness of the 3D viewer. To select a mode, click 3D lighting in the Visualization group on the General Preferences dialog.

Planning mode is the default option. It is optimized for surgery planning. The 3D viewer is faster and lighting on the 3D model is less detailed. This facilitates annotations, measurements and overall surgery planning.

Presentation mode is recommended for surgery planning presentations to patients or colleagues. The 3D viewer is slower, but lighting on the 3D model is more detailed and realistic.
