Caution
For cone beam CT images, it will measure the average gray value of a sphere with a defined diameter around the indicated point.
For multi-slice CT images, this action measures the average Hounsfield unit value of a sphere with a defined diameter around the indicated point. The Hounsfield unit value is a good indication for bone density.

1. Do one of the following:
— Choose HU Value 
in the Measure group on the Diagnose
tab. The cursor changes into a crosshair.
— Click the arrow underneath HU Value and select one of the predefined dimensions.
2. Click the position to measure. A pop-up window shows the average HU value of the sphere, with a diameter as defined in the settings, around the indicated point. The measurement result is also shown in the 3D viewer.
