Different options are available to adjust a transfer function. One way to adjust a transfer function is via the Level/window tool.
A dedicated Edit Transfer Function dialog is also available, allowing for a more detailed editing of a transfer function.
To edit a transfer function:
1. Expand the Transfer Functions gallery by clicking the double arrow in the bottom-right corner of the gallery.
2. Click Edit Transfer Function .
3. The Edit Transfer Function dialog is displayed.

You can also open the Edit Transfer Function window via the Property Panel option on the Patient Model pop-up menu. Click Edit.
4. Drag the colored nodes to reposition them, add or remove them, and/or change their colors to obtain a transfer function which results in a nice visualization.
Note
Multiple selection of the nodes is possible by holding down [Ctrl] or [Cmd] while selecting the nodes. When selecting all of the nodes it is possible to move the transfer function as a whole and reposition it on the scale in a single move.
5. Click OK to save your changes to the transfer function or Cancel to discard them.
Tip
Use the zoom function to get a closer look at a specific part of the transfer function. Drag the handle towards the plus sign to zoom in, or towards the minus sign to zoom out again.
To change the position of a transfer function node:
1. Click the node you want to change. It is selected (thicker black contour) and the icons in the Edit Transfer Function toolbar are enabled.
2. Do one or more of the following:
— Drag the node up or down to change the opacity.
— Drag the node to the left or right to change the corresponding gray value.
To add an extra node to the transfer function:
1. Click Add point in the Edit Transfer Function toolbar.
2. Click the position in the transfer function graph where you want to add the node.
3. Fine-tune the node's position by dragging the node up or down to change the opacity, or left or right to change the corresponding gray value.
4. If desired, change the color of the transfer function node.
To delete a node from the transfer function:
1. Select the node you want to remove.
2. Click Remove point .
3. The selected transfer function node is removed. The nearby nodes are connected again.
To change a transfer function node's color:
1. Select the transfer function node by clicking it.
2. Click Change point color in the Edit Transfer Function toolbar.
3. The Select Color dialog is opened, allowing you to select a proper color.
Note
You can also double-click the node to open the Select Color dialog.
4. When the color is determined, click OK.
