Working with online patient files while being offline

Even when no Internet connection is available, online patient files owned by the logged-in user will be visible on the computer provided that they have been created on the computer the user is working on or when downloaded from the server to the computer at least once. They are displayed with a disabled (grayed out) look.

Note

This does not apply to patient files that are shared with the logged-in user. Only patient files created by the user himself will be on display when working offline.

It is possible to continue working on an online patient file when no Internet connection is available. When you open the grayed-out patient file by clicking it, a local copy is made. 'Copy' will be placed behind the name.

Caution

When working on a copied patient file, you will be working on the most recently downloaded patient file, which is not necessarily the most up-to-date patient file.

When an Internet connection is available again, the local copy and the original online version will both still be available. There will be no link at all between these two versions of the patient file. It is up to the user to decide whether or not to upload the updated copied patient file and remove the original, no longer up-to-date patient file.

Caution

Orders related to the online patient file will not be copied to the local copy of the patient file to avoid inconsistencies.
