In some cases you may want to use a virtually modified dental scan in stead of the original dental scan, e.g. when you have virtually removed some teeth from the dental scan that are still present in the original dental scan, but that will be extracted before the surgery takes place). You can replace the dental scan in a few clicks.
In the Planning module, click Dental Scan in the Treatment Scan group on the Prosthetic tab. Alternatively, access the Edit Dental Scan
wizard.
In the Check result page of the Dental scan wizard, click the Replace dental scan surface action.
Browse to the dental scan file (.stl or .ply), select it and click Open.
Indicate whether the original dental scan was used or whether the dental scan was imported in DTX Studio™ Implant (by means of the Open export functionality. Click OK to confirm.
The new dental scan surface is added to the patient model. A warning message is displayed in the wizard, as well as in the Assistant, stating that the dental scan alignment has been manually adjusted.
Click Finish to close the wizard.
The newly added, virtually altered dental scan will be aligned to the original dental scan.
