To import a surface scan resulting from a dental cast or an intraoral scan, or from a diagnostic scan from the lab:
In the Clinic module, click to open the patient menu.
Click Import and select IO Scan.
Alternatively, drag and drop the intraoral scan files from the explorer (or the desktop) into DTX Studio Home or into the Clinic module.
Note
NXA files can only be imported in the Clinic module.
Browse to the location of the surface scan(s) you want to import. Select the file or the folder with the intraoral scans to import, and click Import.
In the Select data window:
Select the intraoral scans you want to add to this diagnosis by clicking the tiles with the data. Tiles with a green border will be included.
Click to view the data in grid view. Click
to view the data in list view.
Click Select all to select all the data in the list. Click Deselect all to deselect all the data.
Select the intraoral scan type. PLY files will be shown in color. STL files will have a distinctive color per intraoral scan type:
beige: upper jaw, lower jaw (dental cast)
blue: upper diagnostics, lower diagnostics
pink: upper locator scan, lower locator scan
yellow: bite
To change the acquisition date for all the files, click Edit acquisition date for all and enter the date. To change the acquisition date for one file, hover over the image tile, click and select the acquisition date.
Click Import.
If MagicAssist is enabled (on by default), the process is started to automatically set up the orientation of the patient data. Click Skip MagicAssist to use the default setup.
If needed, adjust the IO Scan orientation or fuse it with the X-ray.
Note
Only the selected IO scan is shown in the different workspaces.
