Tooth Workspace

To focus on one tooth, click Tooth on the workspace bar. Alternatively, use SmartFocus in another workspace and click a tooth.

The Tooth workspace is only available:

If intraoral images are added to the diagnosis, or

If a 3D (CB)CT scan is added to the diagnosis and the tooth positions have been calibrated.

Note

Tooth positions are automatically calibrated with MagicAssist, when setting up an OPG / PAN curve or manually via the tooth positions tool.

Focus on another tooth with SmartFocus.

Tooth Workspace Layout

The perpendicular viewer has a vertical slider which rotates the slices around the tooth rotation axis. The index in the bottom-right corner shows the amount of rotation of the reslice around the tooth rotation axis.

Dynamic slice hints indicate the orientation of the reslice. Depending on the situation, the following slice hints are shown: Oral/Buccal (O / B), Mesial/Distal (M / D), Left/Right (L / R).

The position of a viewer relative to the other viewers is indicated by colored index lines.

To move a reslice, scroll in the active reslice viewer, or click and drag the index line. Alternatively, move the gray slider to the right side.

To rotate a reslice, click and drag one of the thicker index line endings. Drag the mouse inside the viewer to rotate the image data around the center point of the viewer.

Notes

The reslice position is saved. To revert to the default position, right-click in the reslice viewer and select Reset reslice axis. Alternatively, click the drop-down arrow on the viewer title bar, and then select Reset reslice axis. When the Reset viewer option is selected, the reslice position is reverted and any applied zoom settings are reset.

The 3D reslice viewers have a default reslice thickness of 0.5 mm.

To visualize the position of the reslices, the reslice objects on the 3D viewer in the bottom-left corner can be displayed. On the Visibility smart panel, make sure the eye icon in front of the Reslice Objects is selected.

The composition of the Tooth workspace is saved per tooth per diagnose.

Note

This is true, except for a 3D panoramic. If a 3D panoramic is added to the Tooth workspace, it will be shown for all teeth. If you remove the 3D panoramic, it will be removed from all teeth. On the 3D panoramic, SmartFocus can be activated.

Depending on the available data for the chosen tooth, the default tooth workspace viewers differ.
